Nostalgia
25.5x20 inch
Acrylic on canvas
2021
This painting is meant to capture two women in what appears to be a joyful moment. While one of the individuals has a mask covering her face, the other does not. The reason for this is that I intended to tell the story of our generation's lives during the COVID-19 pandemic. While the painting is a metaphor, showing the contrast between the way that life used to be before the pandemic and how it was after, it is also a very real reflection of the change that occurred due to the pandemic. This painting becomes more impactful in the abstract when we consider how quickly life can change course.
