Monument of Regrets

My regrets and lingering feelings of the past continue to haunt me early in the morning and late into the night. While I have spent my whole adolescence fighting these feelings, these intrusive thoughts have continued to be a challenge for me, so I wanted to build a monument to honor its existence. I sculpted this monument to represent all the painful times, but also everything that I have learned from the past. This artistic process is my way of acknowledging and paying respect to the fact that my past does not just consist of my mistakes and regrets, but also all the beautiful moments that I have shared with my friends and family. To create this monument, I used cement, gypsum, and other materials that I felt represented precious moments of my past and turned them into a consolidated monument. One of the most subtle, yet fascinating, features of this monument is that it has wheels on its bottom and is able to follow wherever I go.
