“Mixed emotions” is a piece that is set to represent the full spectrum of emotions that I find myself feeling. I utilized a variety of details to bring this piece to life. For example, in each photo I either make a distinct pose or facial expression, which is typically the most common way for humans to express their emotions without using words. However, I wanted to give a more surreal sense of emotion by utilizing different lighting techniques and color to supplement my body language. The color that stands out most prominently to me is the photo on the furthest left where I have my eyes shut and am covered by a green hue. This photo inspired the rest of the piece as I was staying up late one night imaging different versions of myself living lives that were wildly different because of one or two changed aspects. I found myself completely envious of these different versions and decided to create something that represented this experience.
