Delusion in the Bed

This piece reflects one of my most recurring late night thoughts: How can I win at poker? While poker may be seen as just another way to gamble, my friends and I rarely, if ever, play for money. Rather, we prefer to use virtual chips and enjoy each other’s company. Still, though I have quite the competitive spirit and I cannot help but become fully consumed by the practice of trying to get inside of the minds of the people around me since, to me, that is ultimately the goal. Thus, I decided to dedicate a piece to both poker and the things that occur within my head. In this piece, rather than making a poker a poker table the primary setting, I decided to make the setting my bed as that is the place where I happen to spend most of my time, and the cards and chips are placed above my head headboard to represent the thoughts floating around in my head at any given time. Additionally, there are three screens displaying a video of me playing poker. Additionally, I beam projected a video on the blanket, of myself playing poker. There are three screens displaying a video which visualizes my overthinking process.
