Michelangelo’s Statue of David stands atop a cupcake with a much less refined physique than the original. Rather, David now has a much more bloated and dwarfed body. This new representation of David is a metaphor for an individual living in a society where he has access to everything in excess. David is no longer a hero who proudly won against the invincible Goliath, but now is reduced to a shell of a man who has indulged in his desires for far too long.
